VetStart RTP entrepreneurial day was a great success! Over 140 individuals attended, to include almost 100 veterans! Many thanks to all who helped to put together and support the event. Special Thanks to organizations like EntreDot, The RTP Foundation and the iCubed Agency for all of the behind the scenes and day of support!
The goal of VetStart was to provide a solid introduction for veteran entrepreneurs who were looking to connect with various community resources to help launch and grow their businesses. Three panels of experts, many veterans themselves, covered topics like entrepreneurship, community resources and financing options. Veterans also had the opportunity to hear from Randy Nelson, a former Navy nuclear submarine officer who successfully built and sold two multi-million dollar companies. Randy also provided all attendees with signed copies of his #1 bestselling book; The Second Decision: The Qualified Entrepreneur.
During the event, we were also honored to hear from Paul Dillion, who’s work in Chicago helped to provide the inspiration for Bunker Labs. Bunker Labs is an entrepreneurship-support organization that supports early-stage, veteran-owned businesses and veteran entrepreneurs. At the event, we were proud to announce that The Bunker RDU will soon be standing up at The Frontier with the support of The RTP Foundation! With its formation, we will look to transform RTP into the center of veteran entrepreneurial activity by helping to launch and grow up to 60 veteran run startups each year here in North Carolina.
